For the last year I have been enjoying the friendship of Claudette Bouchard. Claudette is a pioneer energy worker. Taking her workshops has made me very aware of how everything has energy and there is a constant exchange of energy going on all the time. You can pick up an object, and if you pay attention, you can feel the energy of the object in relation to your own energy. We all know the experience of walking into a building and being hit with either a positive, or a negative energy as soon as you enter through the door. We all know the experience of picking up another person’s energy while in their presence. However, a lot of the time, maybe even most of the time, we are not aware of the energy transference that is happening. Thus explaining the need for energy clearing via time in nature, moving our bodies, smudging, using essential oils and crystals, seeing a bodyworker, or having a session with Claudette!
It has recently hit me that we humans have not been giving the animals in our worlds credit for the energy work they do. From what I can see, the horses are continually cleansing our energy here at The Equine Connection. I can be very tired and yet after even just ten minutes of grooming Landor, I will feel re-freshed. The horses know the foundational nature of energy and the importance of cleansing it and re-charging energy. During numerous bodywork sessions, where the horses have been present helping the human bodyworkers, I have witnessed how the horses will move a particular negative energy out and replace it with a nourishing energy for the client. Their body movements are sometimes simple – for instance, standing strong and grounded, focused on the human. And sometimes the body movements tell a clear story of trauma being transformed.
Focusing on the energy and ensuring it is cleansed and re-energized is simpler than a lot of the other transformational work we engage in. I am beginning to understand why Landor has always wanted me to talk less. He has been telling me that simply paying attention to self or the other, while transmitting love to all, is more powerful than intellectually understanding something.
