I have been listening to Clarissa Pinkola Estes on her collection of CDs called Theatre of the Imagination. Just like in her book, Women who Run with the Wolves, Clarissa tells fairytales and educates the listener as to the nurturance to be found in the stories. She talks about the importance of understanding symbols and how they feed the deepest parts of our selves. I really enjoy listening to her tell a story. It is very playful. She reminds us that we are more than just our intellect. Our emotional and spiritual lives need the nurturance of stories and play. Your local library most probably holds the works of Clarissa. Check it out.
