Joey is a new man! He has gained some weight. His coat is shiny. He has even shed his winter coat. And, best of all, his life force is high.
This miraculous transformation of Joey’s vitality comes after years of him not having been able to eat very much of anything, due to laminitis. (Notice I did not say ‘his’ laminitis. Part of any transformation is a letting go of the attachment to the problem, which is only possible if we do not make our challenges part of our identities.) All of a sudden, he is flourishing on a whole mixture of hays and other foods. He is moving easily, and will even sometimes canter and buck. He also has no problem going up and down the steep hill in Vienna’s pasture.
Interesting, don’t you think? Of course I am curious about the cause of these changes. Nevertheless, as much as I would like to analyze, and be able to explain the changes, I will probably never know exactly what has transpired. I do know one thing. Joey is listened to and his opinion matters to the people who choose to work with him. One of his teachings is to give and receive love. In addition to prioritizing love, Joe has aged. My guess is that some of our transformations are the consequence of a lot of time, years, spent loving ourselves by doing self-development. The eventual transformation manifests not only in our beliefs, and behaviour, but also in our physicality. After years of conscious, purposeful living, some things eventually fall into place. The fruits of our pursuit of personal growth manifest. A transformation becomes evident, visible. How very nice, satisfying even…
